We made it to and past 25°C yesterday, so well done to RobSnowman, Caz, Gooner, ManUtdMatt1986, Domma and, er, myself, for hitting that nail on the head - 1 point each

The rest need to hope for better luck with the other categories - next up will be the first 27.5°C with a few candidates in the coming week

The August Prediction Game Graph

Much to my surprise, Norwich Airport climbed to 27.7°C yesterday, meaning that we've already breached the 27.5°C mark... just goes to show what can happen if you have a very warm airmass ahead of a frontal system and the sun sneaks out for a while.

To be honest, I'm also surprised to find myself no lower than 4th place.

jamesthemonkeh, a new arrival to the game, was spot on with that one, so well done to him Gooner and ManUtdMatt1986 were both only one day out while Caz, Vince and ARTzeman were all 2 days out.

Now, where are we going to find 30°C in the near future... not much sign of that is there? Mid-20's seems to be the maximum for the coming week or so, with most places nearer to the low-20's on most days.

The August Prediction Game Graph

I must admit that doing the scores for this month wasn't much fun at all - kept ending up the wrong side of close groups, for example I scored 5 points for being just 2 hours out on the final sunshine total

You win some, you lose some

A big hand for Gooner, who has blown away the competition this month. He got the highest temperature spot on, and was also closest with the average rainfall... and he was one of the four who predicted that 30°C would not be seen during the period 3rd-31st August 2013.

Now here's a funny thing; those four who said no to 30°C occupy the top four finishing places!

Worth noting that the only other spot-on prediction was for the total sunshine, by RobSnowman - well done to him.

Seasonal and annual scores on the way - here's to a classic September to come

The Fun Prediction Game 2013 Scores so Far

Here's the annual league table. My unimpressive performance this month has sent me back to second place, with RobSnowman back at the top of the table. Caz is not all that far behind either of us.

We're all a bit split up in the rest of the league, with only two people in the 'missed one' group and three in the 'missed two' group. The former sees Domma maintaining her lead, and the same goes for Johnny25 in the latter, although Gooner has closed down the distance between them somewhat.

Now for the seasonal league, which is of a more satisfactory size:

The Summer Prediction Game Scores So Far

Yes, seven people have managed to enter in all three months of summer - thank you very much folks

Despite losing a little ground in August, ManUtdMatt1986 claims the gold medal (only figuratively speaking I'm afraid ), so very well done to him. I've landed second place while RobSnowman was only a few points behind in third. In fact it was a very close seasonal competition between the top three, with only 9 points seperating 1st from 3rd.

Many thanks to all participants as always
