Mmm, interesting.

Something forming in situ here.  Now experiencing heavy rain to the west of the main rain area.

Just a few distant flashes seen between 1 and 3.30am BST, a couple of intense power-shower type events during this time.

Hi John!

And as if by magic, it's now raining - and properly too. The lawn will certainly appreciate it.

Weak sun here and dry. Perfect for the BBQ I just cooked for the other half's crew. I put the dividing line at Newbury to Chichester in my forecast yesterday and it looks pretty good just now.
Off now to listen to the Blues beat Mansfield away with a rum and coke and some chilli peanuts. Lovely!

Things deteriorating in this part of the world. Main A127 London arterial closed at Basildon, Southend sea front flooded. Many roads have water across the road and cars having to go on pavements to get through. Wife and son stuck out there on the 127. Taken 1 hour to do 100 yards. Garden going under water as I type.

Heaviest sustained rain for the 22 years I've been in my place. Half the back garden now submerged, and the lying water across the front of the house, never seen that.

Been mad in the last hour. The water had nowhere to go and started backing down streets. Back garden totally submerged with wood floating. Just helped a neighbour lift a manhole to try and pump some water away and its brim full. Neighbour also said can't use toilets etc as water backed up. Still raining and don't think we are done yet.

Over here, it does seem that my locaton has been avoiding most of the heavy rain as it has been generally overcast with sporadic spells of moderate type rain all day but nothing too bad.
All in all, I have collected a modest 8.7 mm since the early hours of this morning. Not amazing stuff but the lawn will appreciate it all the same. A Tesco-type affair - as in Every Little Helps.
But to NAE's favour, the whole thing went along as per modelled by that particular output anyway.

Another 10 mm has fallen during the night. All in all, 19 mm has fallen in the past 24 hours for my location, not an amaaaazing record breaking amount but the lawn will appreciate it very much all the same. 👍 I wonder what is the official measurements in the more badly affected areas (eg, Southend) anyway.
