Martyn, Felixstowe had some of the worst casualties in 53, my grandad picked bodies out of the water when he was in the police force. I fear for Felixstowe, any storm there seems to cause problems now, tonight is incredibly worrying.

I'm also starting to feel the stoke bridge area of Ipswich will have a lot of problems tonight.

Thought I would see a bit more snow around these parts. Just a dusting. Blizzards for a time at Oslo airport.... Western Norway apparently took a battering today as well. Stavanger airport closed for most of they day... Rumours that some of the roof blew off. Not sure if true.

Light snow in Penrith at the moment ahead of the warm front, this is the first (and possibly the last) snow of the season.

Today I could see some snow cover on the hills to my east on Hoarstone Edge and Black Chew Head.

There have been flurries of snow on and off throughout the day here. Bop Ly ever light but settling to leave a dusting which has remained on the ground, side roads etc. all day.

Light feathery flakes of snow falling here just now. Landing on yesterday's light cover in the garden. Currently 0.2C.

It"s still rather chilly/wintry up here here (and will probably be until the morning). Aberdeen International Airport is currently reporting -1°C with light snow from that little feature moving across.

Meanwhile here in the city it was currently still dry and cold when I checked a minute ago.

We had light snow down at Leith (sea level) at 1830. Just got back up to south Edinburgh (80m) and there is a very light covering on some paths and car roofs
