I don't have my own weather station, just a thermometer, but anecdotally I have hardly had to scrape the car windscreen at all. I would, therefore, imagine it have jot had an air frost as windscreen frost could just be ground frost, is that correct? Any way, very few frosts here and no cold nights.........😢

Yes Ground Frost can produce ice on the cars etc. I have had a few GF, but the air just refuses to fall below freezing

6th December was the closest at +0.1c, had a couple of +0.7c but thats it

Haven't recorded a sub-zero minima this winter.

0.4C is the lowest of the "winter" in my neck of the woods....

Incredible really.

Must be a local effect but truly exceptional for January, this winter had been memorable for all the wrong reasons!

I think there has been one air frost all winter at Prestwick and none at Tiree (less surprising).

No proper hard winter frosts here just 17 autumn/spring type frosts totalling only 80.3 hours duration. Absolute low of -2.5C. Probable first winter since 1924/25 not to reach -3C with mean minimum mildest since 1934/35.

39.8 hours below zero in the first week of December
1.0 hours below zero in the rest of December
20.4 hours below zero in January
19.1 hours below zero in February

Absolutely dire. I got 9 air frosts in the first 13 days of April 2013 totalling 38.9hours. That is just 1.6 hours less frost duration than in the 12 weeks from 8th Dec 2013 to 28th Feb 2014. Truly shocking

Paul, perhaps you should post that picture of your minimum thermometer this morning!

We think there's 2 sites in Cumbria inland that have not had an air frost this winter+ one coastal (Walney Island) ironically the west coast has done better as we had a brief spell easterly winds in January - St Bees head managed 2 air frosts which is even more astonishing as it one of the least frosty places in Cumbria normally.
