Thought I'd dig that picture out after someone on the Weather Forum stuck the Scotland Traffic cam up showing Drumochter as it is at the moment. This isn't too far away from there, all looks a bit different to when we went through on the bikes.

I think it was a little down the road from the Dalwhinnie Distillery where the A889 joins the A9. There's a fairly reasonable cycle path running right along the road made up of paths and old bits of the A9 which we followed for a fair way down.


And having just dug through some of the other photos I'm pretty sure it was there. This was the nice but not quite as picturesque view looking back the other way:-

I think your location is about right.  It looks like it was taken near the white B&B, but i forget what it is called.

Balsporran B&B. Quite a place to live and work. Have travelled many times through Drummochter in a blizzard .
