Still snowing here at 0.3' after starting as heavy rain at 4pm. Two long rumbles of thunder and it quickly turned to heavy snow. Very dramatic. Now about 12cms. Astonishing really considering elevation and previous weather. (It was 4.6' at 3.45pm.) an unexpectedly snowy Symon

The snow was heavy/horizontal and very windy from Perth to Balhaldie, then rain from Dunblane,

Strangely very little showing Balinluig North, even Drumochter is quite wet.

The Meto Weather warning had the "lower level" snow risk out in the west too, i'm guessing there was a colder sector?  Or is it just the intensity in that area?

Going by forecast, they now expect the snow to persist over Perth way for another hour or two.

I'm so jealous of what is only 10-20miles away as the crow flies.  Tuesday was our first lying snow of the winter (about an inch)

Edit:- should add that it is 1.5c here and gusty winds.  Power been off three times, but came back on within 30secs to a minute each time.

Pretty rough round my area now - Been sheltered from the worst of this until now - I bet there is some damage by tomorrow if not already.

I wonder what the highest gust is with this lot.
