Today should be the first completely dry day here this month; yesterday nearly made it but the convection got deep enough to produce a few spit-spots. A question mark over tomorrow - some measurable rain is possible. Thereafter I'll put the rain gauges away and get all of the firewood out to season!

Remaining on 36.2mm.

Fingers crossed for the promised fine spell.

Just 0.9mm from today's hours of drizzle and light rain. Total now at 37.7mm. This week may produce one or two completely dry days here but we're paying the price of having the high pressure area in the wrong place - allowing Atlantic moisture and weak disturbances to continue to move through from time to time  Not the best weather for seasoning firewood

Total remaining on 37.7mm. The week so far is better than I was expecting; lower humidities, less cloud and completely dry .. so far. Now on two completely dry days here this month and looking like this one will be the 3rd. Firewood seasoning nicely - cracks already appearing in the wood thanks to that dry breeze and sunshine

My run of successive completely dry days ended today: A trace from the drizzle early this morning and from the spit-spots from slight showers earlier this evening! Remaining on 37.7mm. 4 consecutive completely dry days in the end .. I wonder if I'll manage to top that this month here? I haven't a clue!

Well, I'm on 4 consecutive completely dry days again this month .. not bad for the NW A question mark over tomorrow .. not expecting much, if any precip. from the weakening cold front, so I've emptied the water butts by watering the garden borders today ...

It is getting to a point where the lawn is now starting to look a bit thirsty and could use a good drop of the hard stuff. Hardly surprising since the last time I recorded any appreciable rainfall was on the 9th June with 2.7 mm, since then it came in dribs and dribs measuring 0.3 mm or less, and thus the topsoil is quite loose and dusty . . .

The lawn here is lush green tho' the borders are getting dry - especially near to the adjacent woodland on this hill of sand! Maybe Friday will fill those empty water butts!
