This all came together better than I expected.
There were a few wisps of fog hanging round the moor as a result of earlier rain showers the other evening, I went up to the top near Ralphs Cross thinking the sun might be breaking through here and there - but it was very thick and drizzly, so came back down just as the sun was setting - and the magic was pretty much there just near home.

How did you get it to come out rock solid steady?! What a great looking vista, you certainly chose the right time of the day for it.

It's a gyroscopially stabilised gimbal Ian.
The worst thing was I was under siege from midges and had to keep a crash helmet on!

Great flying shots. Had a look at some other Flights of Four... Could do with that when exploring  local disused canals.....

do you send your drone up to check on your sheep and cattle or are they spooked by it?

They don't seem much bothered by it if you keep it fairly high, it makes less noise than an electric strimmer and they hardly flinch at low-flying military jets and helicopters.
I don't use it like that because realistically you don't want to fly it out of sight most of the time, which is only about 3-400 metres.

Sometimes a cow with new calf will go off to some quiet corner and be surprisingly hard to see until almost next to them.
It would possibly be useful to look down on a larger area on that sort of occasion.
Any stressed area in crops show up much better from above too.

oh i thought you could send it out to check on a cow calving to see if you need to assist. trouble is when you walk out to look at one under the hedge calving it disturbs them. be like a sort of mobile calving camera.

This is just half a mile down the road from the misty one.
Heather is just coming to peak, I should do some more further up where it is a great expanse of purple.
