A flock of these fellas appeared this morning and one of them took a liking to the autumnal fruit next door


I've seen them a few times before in groups of 5-10 and assume them to be wild budgies that have formed a colony somewhere


(pic is a bit grainy as it's a tiny crop out of the middle of the frame)

Get these parakeets all time the time where I am. Supposedly, a couple of them were released into the wild back in the 1930's and they've been 'breeding like rabbits' ever since.

Interesting! I hd no idea there were colonies of wild budgies in the UK.
