On BBC1 now.

Richard Hammond said that a 15mph wind (force 4) would 'make your umbrella a gonner' or words to that effect?

Really?

Fills me with confidence for the programme generally...

Missed that bit, but I liked the stuff with Reed Trimmer    Programme was better than I expected.

It got better though. It was great to see Reed Timmer back on our screens in his Dominator 3.

Yep...A pretty lightweight programme for me...got bored quickly! A few shots of supercells and tornadoes but mostly Hammond doing experiments

I, too, just finished watching it, it's a bit like a meteorological version of Top Gear but without Jeremy and James - and all mostly elementary stuff in my eyes. But, hey, mustn't moan as it made for a cheerful alternative to I'm A Has Been Get Me Out Of Here so at least our dear Aunty Beeb is trying to make an effort.

Should have been done by Prof Brian Cox to baffle us all.... .At least it would be watchable then.

BBC1, Primetime, so you can't really expect anything very scientific or revelatory. Covers the same ground as the Donal MacIntyre "Wild Weather" series from 2002, where the premise is to put a TV Face in some bad weather and film the results. Bring back Storm Chasers!

I made a point of not watching it, because Hammond was the presenter. He should stick to things he knows about, like driving cars.
