I note with interest that we have a 'proper' continental feed pushing into east Kent this morning.


Despite 850Hpa's of +1c the 925Hpa's are -3c and illustrates perfectly the low level cold feed pushing westwards at the moment.


Temps down here will probably hover between 2-3c all day with a gradual fall from current values.

Currently 0.8c. Patchy cloud with a clearance towards the southeast. Overnight low of -3.7c which is the second coldest night of the season so far. A grass minimum of -5.8c. Frost still on the grass. Much milder further west over Ireland with 5c to 8c being reported from stations there as the Atlantic influence becomes established.

Cloudy and dry but temperatures have fallen from 6.7c this morning to 5.7c, also I never noticed before how dark the daytime is in December under cloud, I guess its always this dark 18 days before the winter solstice but it just seems eerie. It actually reminds me of 1997 and how it was as the solar eclipse progressed.
