Oh my, skies has cleared up and the sun is out! I can now actually turn the lights off indoors. However, it is only a gap in the cloud sheet where it will cloud over again shortly - but hey, this is probably the best thing I've seen all week.

7.0 C with 81% humidity under a light wind.

Sunny here since soon after 9:30
Maximum was 5.3 a few minutes ago.
As the patcchy rain cleared at 9am there was sleet for a while but only a trivial short spell.

Hi, Ian! Plenty of sunshine here today along with increasing levels of convection. The sky to the north of here atm is lit up an orangey-yellow colour from the low sun reflecting off the cu nimb wall! Has stayed dry here but can't rule out a wintry shower in the next few hours! Just 4.2C with mainly light NW winds, pressure has risen to 1020mb

Hi John! As expected, it is clouding over but at least I got a decent bright afternoon out of it. I'm not expecting too much in the way of lively/interesting weather at this end and in fact I may even get to miss out on the frost tonight what with the northerly wind bringing broken cloud in from what is still a warm North Sea.
  I think my next shot at lively weather is Wednesday night with southerly-type gales .. . . the only kind of weather I seem to excel at, night time stormy winds. Lovely, but I guess I have experienced far worse.

Just had a huge downpour with two flashes of lightning & big thunder claps in Manchester city centre. It was sunny a few minutes before, and throughout I could see blue sky to the NE (the approx. way my window faces)
