A much lower temperature anomaly in December compared to much of 2014 but despite this the maximum temperature was 1.0C above normal and the minimum 0.6C above normal. So still a warmish month. However, I recorded 9 air frosts. This is the highest figure in any month since March 2013. This shows that it was a month of contrasts. Some very mild weather but also plenty of seasonably cool conditions.

Text - December2014 - Compared with last December this year has been very different, nearly as wet but at least some welcome frosts which were completely absent in 2013, numbering 10. Mean Max above normal by +0.6c. Mean Min 2.4c which again is warmer than normal by 1.3c. There was a very wet spell on the 22nd-23rd with local rivers in full flood, there were several accidents in the area as vehicles struck flood water. 22nd December was my wettest ever December day with 29.2mm There was a little snow but just a thin cover on the morning of the 11th. Sunshine levels very low at just over 20 hours

Some very wet days here throughout december made if feel damp and miserable, but wasn't overly cold despite a few seasonal days thrown in.
