I'm still stuck under this frontal cloud and rain but I can see the sky trying to brighten up as the back end nears. The wind has fallen calm now, though.

Thunderstorm in progress here in Arborfield - after a sunny morning it suddenly went black and now it's raining and thundering. 

Only two rumbles of thunder, but then the rain suddenly turned into heavy hail, which almost started accumulating and left mini hail drifts on window ledges. Quite dramatic!

Sleety/wet snow in Wolverhampton at around 500ft.  Hills of Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire may get a slushy covering this afternoon though. 

Successive forecasts seem to be nudging the heavier, more persistent, showers tonight a little more south.  In any case after dark wet snow followed by rain is never anything to get too excited about.  If I could at least watch falling snow in daylight hours I'd be a little happier.
