Had an indecisive light shower earlier. Started as freezing rain, turning wintry at times, ending as pretty much 100% snow, albeit a light flurry in nature.

Still nice to see snow falling from the sky for the first time since 4 April 2013!

Dull and overcast. How could a little light cold rain amounting to 1.8 mm be so wet?!

3.6 C with 87% humidity under a light southerly breeze.

Here's a pic of quite an impressive halo phenomena seen here around lunchtime.  I think it features a Circumzenithal Arc, and two Sun Dogs to the left and right, the one on the right is faint but was definitely there.  

Temperatures dropping again here with largely clear skies and d/p hanging just below 1c.......all down to timing now, but I wouldn't be surprised to see some snow here in the early hours whatever the forecasters may or maybe not saying.

Sunny intervals between the high cloud bands marking the approaching frontal system from the SW. A lazy SE breeze, 0.9C, pressure @ 1005mb falling. Overnight low of -3.7C. Still a partial snow cover here - that may be added to later

A fascinating evening of weather station viewing here.

Air +3.7c but more importantly the dewpoint is plummeting..now down to -2.0c (+0.9c at 17.30hrs).

The continental undercut is clearly occuring. 

This will go to the wire. 

Still on the wrong side of 0 here at the moment; DP +1.3, Temp +2.9 

I tried a bit of lamp post watching on the train back from Ashford to Broadstairs earlier, but I forgot there are no lamp posts by the track side 

 The thought was there though JB..thats the main thing.

Good luck in getting those DP's down. This is all good so long as the precipitation holds together. Its decaying quickly as it encounters the drier air by the looks of things. 

Looking pretty marginal for snow now in the south

It took 2 hours for the dewpoint of  0c to fall to -2c but effortlessly it took just 30 minutes to climb back to -0.1c.

With an T2M temperature of 3.6c I think its fair to say its game over for this event. .
