I was hoping that now that the wind is coming in from the near continent at all levels (surface through to 850 hPa) and the reduced humidity values at the 850 hpa level, it would have the effect of dragging the clear air over France my way and thus giving me a better chance of seeing some brightness today, but I'm not quite so sure now.
