Well it's possible my digital max/min thermometer has been dropped a few to many times but....

If it's to be believed we've seen a max of 24.1C and it's currently 23.2C....

It has been located in deep shade with plenty of ventilation...

I would have said it's felt more like 23C top temps, but then again I've been sweating buckets in the garden lol.

Nearby gosport has hit 21.4C but I believe from past observations this station is in the east of gosport so the very gentle SE breeze may have helped keep it down.

Solent station has been down for about a month now.

Thorney has hit at least 19.3C...

Thorney is a pretty isolated area surrounded by marsh land... Always guarantee it will be several degrees cooler then surrounding towns/ villages/ city's.

What I find interesting is the lack of any kind of sea breeze... Top wind speed at thorney had been a 9mph breeze lol.

Funny enough the tomatoes hate the heat yet the chillies love it.

Cloudy with outbreaks of drizzle - 10c

Must have been a bit of an eye opener for anyone travelling between the northern cities and London today, with a 16c difference in temp between London and Manc currently.

On a side note I hope this doesn't end up being one of 'those' summers up here (with persistent repetitions of the current setup), and we manage to get the odd southerly/se'ly plume at some point.

Currently 10c and a little brighter.

Still sitting just over 22C

Fantastic ☀️☀️

I should point though that the southern half of portsea island was a little cooler, perticually the southeast qrt... I even saw some mist looking out towards Chichester way.

Expected to be mild night tonight and another warm one tomorrow.

Max of 25C today and 7C last night.  What this stupid front doing there in the north under the strongest HP zone?  How it can form under the HP zone giving those areas missing out a potential of warm day.  Quite unusual to see such extreme low maxes in the north and high maxes in the south in a small island, normal for N America but rare for UK and 15-16C difference must be the record? I see up to 10C different between London and Leeds before.
