Mornin' all from a brightening up Folkestone. The sun is trying to break through after what has been a damp and overcast start to the day.

It is also feeling quite warm and muggy for it at 18 C, especially as there is little wind.

Another sunny warm day and 21 C in the Edinburgh Foehn effect. August much better here.....great for the thousands here for the festival. Pavement cafes booming at last!

Rather gloomy but almost sultry at 18.8C
We haven't made 20C despite the warm feeling - max was 19.7

Sunny most of the day but still could not get higher than 19.5C despite starting from a min of 13.7C 


Predictably as soon as 5pm arrived it has turned absolutely revolting with vile featureless grey North Sea cloud and only 15.1C now.


Just hopeless and with all the rain in the past week taking the monthly total above average already and a horrid weekend ahead August is turning into a dismal washout just like July

Still 18 C at 2100 in Edinburgh and I'm still outside a pub!....very unusual (the temperature not me at the pub)
