Hi all,

Long time lurker, but I have a question and had nowhere else to turn! On the Met Office front page, in the 'Seven Day Forecast' widget, I am convinced that the colour scheme they use for their temperature icons has changed this week. I've tweeted the Met Office (who were very quick at replying!) but they have told me the change happened 18 months ago, but I'm sure it did not.

Freezing temperatures used to be blue - the colder, the darker the blue. But now, there is an almost imperceptible change between the various shades of beige for mild and freezing temperatures are grey.

This link: http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/guide/weather/symbols#temperature-symbols shows the two different scales they use - one for maps and one for tables. I am sure they used to use the 'maps' scale on the widget on the front page, but have now changed to the 'tables' one.

So, I have 2 questions and would really value comments:

1) Am I going mad or did this change happen this week?

2) What do others think about the colours on the scale now used? I miss the blues and don't think the scale shows enough differentiation.

For the record, I know none of this really matters, but it's driving me insane and thought TWO would help me!!

Thanks!

Yup, it's changed recently. Certainly last summer it still had the old colours:

I've no opinion on the colours though as I don't use that page, I go straight to the local forecast pages with their 7-day detail.

Thank you so much for your reply, Retron. That has restored my sanity for a while at least!
