5C, sun just getting out after a rather chilly damp night.

Fine and sunny as the low cloud disappear over them thar hills. Still a bit chilly at 9 C but it's only 9.30 am, I suspect it'll get to be feeling warm later on should the sun stay out for the rest of the day.

Looks like a small thunder risk for later on tonight but I'm not entirely sure what with the modest CAPE levels, the Channel still being cool at this time of the year, etc, etc. 

Actually, strike that. It's going all cloudy and misty with fog enveloping the hills. I'm really not at all surprised given the dampness from last night, the increased humidity and mildness all under a light southerly breeze. There is that "muggy" feel about it in any case so I didn't think it'd stay clear for long enough. Hopefully the high noon sun may try and shift this murkiness later on, though.

Beautifully sunny and warm down at Samphire Hoe, Ian about 3 miles east of you.  Had to take a layer off it was so warm and sunny!  If you check and run the visible satellite sequence you can note that your current cloud is a passing phenomena.

Exactly the same as we were enduring 3 months ago. Grey, wet, write-off conditions with a temperature of 5.7C. Atrocious then and even worse now

Watching BBC forecast just now sounds like a different country and then he goes on about how later in the week it will get cooler, showing a 12C on London...

14°C now and overcast but reached 15°C here and 16°C at Mottisfont in complete shade today, with earlier sunny spells. 

Max of 17.0c in long sunny spells this afternoon. Curretnly 14.8c with a slight increase of cloud from the south ahead of some evening showers I suspect. 

Bright but showers/tstorms on there way.
