I was hoping to wake up to bright weather this morning but instead I was greeted with low cloud and rain. It's still overcast and wet thus I am fighting the desire to go back into winter hibernation. 4.5 mm had fallen since 12 am.

15.7 C & 92% H but at least winds are a lot lighter (did blow a gale here on the coast yesterday).

Indeed, the sun is struggling to break through this low cloud gunk, feels like there is too much humidity in the air now that the soil is all soggy and damp along with the wind being much lighter. We need a good cold front coming in from the Continent to properly dry everything up in double quick time.

The sun has been tentatively popping in and out in the past couple of hours. I'm trying not to make any sudden movement in case I scare it away again.

18.5 C and 77% humidity. The south west wind has picked up slightly to be as moderate.

It is all helping to dry things up.
