There were two notable heatwaves during August 1932. The first was centred around the 11th of August when maxima got into the low 30s. The second heatwave came just after mid month and was the more extreme of the two where maxima got into the mid 30s with 35.0C at Jersey on the 18th, 36.1C for parts of London on the 19th and 32.2C on the 20th at Tottenham.  It became cooler during the latter stages of the month.
