Looks like there's just too much cloud for anything truly special today.
33.2*C here, with some cloud and mostly hazy sunshine. DP of 18.9*C gives RH of 43%.
Frittenden 34.5C.Lot of breaks here near City Airport now.

Still only 27.2C though which is several degrees down on what was expected in these parts a couple of days ago. Will be lucky to break 30 when it was looking like 35 was feasible!
Tomorrow could be a big day.
All about losing some of that elevated cloud. Suggestions tomorrow will be warmer
It just feels like the heatwave hasn’t really happened. After about 2pm yesterday it’s all gone wrong really. We are 6C lower than forecast and it’s 2pm.

Cloudy most of the day here but nearest WS Stansted AP has hit 30c . V v humid now.
Significant progress here now, plenty of hazy sun since around 1 pm and now some clearer spells coming through.
Temp has made it to the big 3 0 and with a NE wind it's hard not to see further increases to come.
Having said that, I'd be surprised to see the local (34.3) record go, though it's feasible if the wind turns far enough toward easterly and the sun has a strong impact upwind in the next few hours.
Funny how this is proving to be the opposite of a typical hot day - cloud clearing up during the peak hours instead of arriving / developing overhead!
Currently got up to 28.8C here, still cloudy; the temperature did hit 29.0C at 13:33. Probably the hottest cloudy day ever, but some 6C cooler than yesterday. 51% Humidity makes it seem warmer.
28C now with quite a strong breeze. Certainly not oppressively warm apart from a brief spell an hour or so again when the sun came through.
Frittenden seemed to be going back up at 2pm but looks like we might just miss out on a second 35C day. And to think I was fairly confident five in a row was possible!
