I could do with some advice on grass minimum temperatures.

For years, I have been trying to record this parameter.  I have tried using the grass minimum thermometer as suggested by the Met office and no using a Davis Soil Thermometer but still don't get the correct temperatures.

Last night - there was a patchy grass frost and yet my soil thermometer records 4.4oC.  How do I get this to record the correct temperature.  Some blades of grass must have been below 0oC?

Thanks

Richard

AFAIK grass minimum thermometers shouldn't be in touch with the ground... I'm guessing yours touched the ground directly?
