13C. Sunny with patchy high cloud. Rain forecast for later today but being showery, a hit and miss sort of rain perhaps.

Overcast, calm, 13.2 (dew 11.9). It's noteworthy how much heat the sun provides even at this time of day when it's out - it feels much cooler despite temperatures being much the same as yesterday.

Yesterday's high was 17.6; it's nice to have had an average day for once!

Here in Edinburgh, last night wasn't quite cold enough to give us a ground frost but we came very close to that actually happening, and it was still a chilly night for the time of year with the temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank dropping to a minimum of 3.5°C which actually made last night our coldest night of this month so far by quite a considerable amount.

After that, today has then started off on a much brighter note than of late but even with that, there is still a lot of cloud around with only occasional sunny intervals.

Meanwhile, the temperature here in Edinburgh as I write, has now recovered to around 11°C.

Had 3 beautiful warm and sunny days based in Ingleton and walking the western Yorkshire Dales, beautiful:
Fri 21 C
Sat 23 C
Sun 23 C

Back to a brilliantly sunny Edinburgh yesterday but much cooler here

It's quite bright again in Edinburgh today and 16.5 C with an east wind. Feeling warm in the garden but chilly out of the sun!

Blue sky and some CU down here in the far west. We’ve missed all the storms and it looks like we’ll miss the rain over central/ eastern England.

Heavy rain already started here by 6am and an Amber Warning of rain email for East Midlands received 6.30am, tho' not for Lincolnshire. Derbyshire is the East Mids county mentioned. Plus Wales, West Yorks, and the NW. The radar is worth a look.

What a day to drive from Edinburgh to Nottingham! Thick fog Edinburgh to Lindisfarne then steady rain with embedded heavy pulses.
Break at Scotch Corner now, it's like December out there, so gloomy!
Not looking forward to this next busy section of A1 with yellow and red echoes moving in 🙄

The rain has got heavier as this afternoon has worn on and given that our official Met Office yellow warning for rain is currently in place until 18:00 UTC (7pm BST) tomorrow evening, tomorrow isn't exactly looking good either.

In addition to that, it's also cooler than of late with a temperature of only around 13°C here in Edinburgh which given that we're now not much over a week away from the start of the meteorological summer, isn't even the least bit warm for this time of the year.🤢

Pretty much non-stop rain now for the last 24 hours. It was heaviest yesterday evening and overnight but is still going now and I notice that nearby Rothamsted Park has now recorded 62mm since 13.00 yesterday!
