Last night was quite a cool night for the time of year. I suppose that we are probably just as likely to experience single figures summer temperature as much as we experience double figures winter temperatures and that was shown last night as the temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank dropped to 7°C.

There was a lot of cloud around to begin with this morning, so today's sunshine totals aren't going to be as high as they were yesterday but that cloud has broken up and it is now become completely sunny once again.

Meanwhile, the temperature here in Edinburgh is around 14°C as I write. It's still early in the day though, although it is a little bit cooler than it was at this time yesterday.

More in the way of cloud this morning but still dry with some brightness., 15 C & mid 80% H. It was fairly decent yesterday with sun/partial cloud mix and even reached a max of 19.6 C in mid-afternoon, but a stiff NE breeze let the side down again.

Another lovely day here in Edinburgh with plenty of decent sunny spells and only some fair weather cloud around although it's also a bit breezy.

Currently around 18°C here in Edinburgh

Late posting but managed 23C with a rather more humid feel to it in the afternoon compared to the previous days.

Dew points up to around 16C at one point.

For the first time this season my room feels uncomfortablely warm.

17.0 C cloudy

Can this be right? But https://www.weatherobs.com/  is showing 16C at nearby Thorney Island Automatic, and that's subject to a cooling influence from the sea. These high overnight temps  are why May has had record warmth although daytime maxes (which is what people notice) haven't been that high.

It's presently partly cloudy here and yet again the GFS is struggling - it has 18C and a 14C dewpoint as the highest here today, whereas it's already 19.6, with a humid-feeling 15.9 dewpoint. It's not even anything to do with an onshore breeze today, as the wind is coming from inland.

MetO's new data has a high of 22 instead, and I reckon that's far more likely.

EDIT: Late morning now and it's reached 21.3 (dew 15.6, so still muggy).

After another four beautiful days in the western Yorkshire Dales I'm back in Edinburgh. The cold front is through, it only gave some drizzly showers earlier. We now have strong sun with a stiff breeze and 15 C.

Feels fine in the sheltered garden

In fact, I've even known it to warmer than that here in the middle of winter and yet this is supposed to be our "summer".😡

Here in Edinburgh, the temperature under clear skies has now dropped to an incredibly cool (for this time of year) 8°C and so we're now experiencing the exact opposite of what I would often describe during the winter as that "nightmare" scenario of double figures winter temperatures as these are single figures summer temperatures which we're now experiencing.

Clear skies, calm, 9.7, dew 6.2 - a wonderful morning, and now we've lost the sultry dewpoints it should be a very pleasant few days to come.

Yesterday's high was 21.8, and there were a few spots of rain in the late afternoon, not even enough to dampen the ground.

9C and a fresher, sunny, calm start to the day after yesterday's cloudy affair with a few spots of rain.

Meanwhile, in the far north of Iceland, winter continues. A snowstorm, which even for here is quite late in the season.
