July has started on a very cool and unsettled note with low pressure bringing rain and showers at times with temperatures around 2C below long term central England temperature average. The coming week will remain changeable with more rain to come but the end of the week may see a change to drier and warmer weather as the Azores High begins to make a move...

Some of the showers will have hail and thunder but some places will miss them and remain dry with Wales and south west England turning generally drier later. It will be a very cool day with temperatures of 10C to 18C.[/font][/color]
Showers will quickly die out this evening with most places becoming dry overnight. Some showers will continue in the west though, with heavy showers merging into more persistent rain through Wales and south west England by morning. It will be a cool night for July with temperatures of 6C to 12C.
Sunday starts dry across eastern counties but the west will have heavy showers from the word go and these showers will become heavy and widespread as they head eastwards across the country. Some of the showers will have hail and thunder and could merge into longer spells of rain in some places as well. Another cool day with temperatures around 12C to 20C.
The next area of low pressure starts pushing in from off the Atlantic on Monday.
We begin Monday with on a mostly dry note with sunny spells. Many places will stay dry but southern and southwestern regions will see cloud and rain pushing northwards while Scotland and Northern Ireland have sunny spells and scattered showers. Temperatures range from 12C to 21C.
Heavy rain pushes northwards across England and Wales on Monday night leading to a wet start to Tuesday. The rain could continue all day across northern England but other parts of England and Wales probably turn drier and brighter. Scotland and Northern Ireland will have scattered heavy showers and sunny spells. Temperatures will be very cool under the persistent rain at just 12C to 15C but warmer temperatures are likely in the sunshine at 19C to 23C.
Low pressure remains dominant for Wednesday with a risk of torrential rain and possibly thunderstorms across England and Wales. Scotland and Northern Ireland have a few scattered showers but many places will stay dry. Temperatures range from 12C to 20C.
Thursday will be another unsettled day with showers and longer spells of rain across the country. Eastern regions will have the more persistent rain at times while western regions are drier and brighter at times. Another cool day with temperatures at 12C to 19C.
Higher pressure could start edging in from the Atlantic on Friday. Much of the south and west will stay dry with sunny spells and just a few scattered showers but northern and eastern regions will have more showers at times, though they may not be as heavy and frequent as previous days. Temperatures edging up slightly but still quite cool with a range from 13C to 21C.
Next weekend could see a change to higher pressure with the weather starting to turn drier, sunnier and warmer.
