Hot weather is fading out! The coming week will have a mix of cooler, more changeable conditions as well as warmer and drier weather. There is, however, no sign of a return to hot temperatures... For now....
Saturday morning has been wet in the west with outbreaks of rain. Central and eastern regions have been mostly dry albeit with quite a lot of cloud. The best of the sunshine has been in the east and East Anglia is still quite hot.
This afternoon will see the rain turning heavier and thundery through Wales and south west England. Watch out for a risk of localized flooding. Scattered heavy showers and thunderstorms are possible in the south and east but many places will stay dry. Temperatures range from just 13C in the extreme west to 28C in the far east.
Overnight, persistent rain pushes northeastwards across Scotland and northern England with a few scattered thundery showers through central and eastern England. Many western regions will have a dry night. A chilly night in the north and west with temperatures of 6C to 12C but still very warm and humid in the south east at 15C to 19C.
Sunday should be a mostly dry day with sunny spells and variable cloud but a few showers are possible for Scotland while more general outbreaks of rain arrive across Northern Ireland later in the day. Temperatures will be ranging from 14C to 23C.
The next area of low pressure will be meandering its way across the country on Monday. Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England will have a damp start with showery rain being replaced by showers. The rest of England and Wales should stay dry with sunny spells. Cool in the north at 14C to 20C but warm in the south at 23C to 26C.
A ridge of high pressure builds through the country on Tuesday. A few scattered showers are possible but most places will stay dry with sunny spells. A warm day too with temperatures of 15C to 26C
Wednesday will be another mainly dry with plenty of sunshine but watch out for some heavy, thundery showers in the west by evening. Temperatures range from 17C to 27C.
The next trough of low pushes across the country on Thursday. Northern regions could have persistent rain while south is at risk of some thundery showers. Temperatures will be cooling down at 13C to 21C.
Friday would still have showers in the north and east but many southern and westerly regions probably stay dry. Rather cool with temperatures of 13C to 21C.
Next weekend probably brings a ridge of high pressure back to the country so it should be a mostly dry weekend with sunny spells though temperatures could be somewhat on the cool side.
