A cold night here, with the sky full of stars - amazingly so due to the clear air. There are a few patches of low cloud moving slowly around, and not a breath of wind. A mile to the west there's an orange glow and a large plume of smoke from a farm fire (one of their barns went up in flames yesterday, not a good day for them).
It's currently 4.4, dew 2.9, and the low so far was 3.8 - by far the coldest night since the spring (you'd have to go back to the 25th April to find a colder night).
Yesterday's high was a cool 15.4.

A bit of a pink sky, here, this morning with some cloud and some blue sky. Almost calm with a temperature of 6.2c, which is the lowest it's been all night.

A good example this morning of the effect of the sea and a bit of altitude. It's still dead calm here, with a good deal more cloud, and the temperature has risen slowly. Not far to the north the land rises, the other side of a valley, and it's closer to the sea. Half a mile north it's 2C warmer, and a mile north it's a whole 4C warmer!
Even this morning, when it dipped below 4C, briefly, it was 8C up there.

Overcast but dry here, with a bit of rain earlier but nowhere near as much as the models showed (the Sheppey Shield must have been on full power).

The change in airmass has led to the odd sensation of it feeling distinctly nippy indoors (16.5, 8C dewpoint), whereas outside it feels much warmer despite being colder (15.9, 15.4 dewpoint). Just goes to show how high dewpoints make things feel that much warmer...

There was 3.8mm of rain overnight.

White Rabbits!! White Rabbits!!

It may well be the start of a brand new month but here in Edinburgh, we once again have that same old dull and dreary start to yet another day.

Currently around 11°C here in Edinburgh following on from an overnight minimum temperature of 10.4°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank which means that September has officially finished with a double figures minimum as a result of the temperatures refusing to drop last night.😡
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
