ConclusionOctober 2024 was slightly warmer than average overall, mainly due to constant mild weather towards the latter part of the month which is still ongoing into this month as well.
The number of air frosts was slightly above average though, although these occurred only on back to back days in the earlier part of the month.
It was a slightly wetter than average month overall but October is our wettest month of the year on average anyway according to the 1991-2020 averages which means that it wasn't excessively wet.
However, October 2024 was yet another duller than average month within what has now turned out to be a very dull year.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
