Full settling snow territory.

Radar gods - send some precip our way over the next few hours. 

Massive flakes coming down again now. Temperature stuck at 0.7C. 

No snow here but witnessed a few flashes in the clear sky yesterday evening.

There's a clump of bright echoes that's growing and skimming past the IoM to it's NE. Where it will make landfall will be crucial.

Looking at that lot we'd be unlucky if it stayed completely dry.

I think the stuff currently over NI is going to skirt to our south, however.

Went for a walk  to Stoke Poges this afternoon, started off with blue skies then it clouded over with light rain which became heavier, turned to sleet and finally snow giving a wet dusting of snow on the grass. Amazingly localised though - it got thicker as we drove home through Beaconsfield but no lying snow at all by the time we arrived back home.

Plenty of snow around west of London - have a look at Traffic England's cameras to see it!

(The reds around High Wycombe are due to snow. Those on the M25 and east... just normal rush-hour traffic).

Whatever else happens now I can say I've seen both falling and lying snow this winter. I'd given up on both tbh.

PS: Interesting to see that most people are reporting rain or sleet just down the road in Central London.

This is probably the heaviest snow since 2010 in a short space of time with the massive snowflakes. Even main roads are covered here, on the cars and grass now 5 - 7cm.

same here Marco, mid afternoon rain but now some flakes of snow in the wind. It’s not substantial enough to settle, though if skies clear overnight it will become icy again

Not sure if the hills adequately gritted but one of my staff still not home in Chesham having left the office in HW 3:45.

I am about to go home but only need to get up one of the ridges!

moderate snow for couple of hours, not settling. Hertford 100m

I'm glad my wife left HW (High Wycombe) when she did at 3.20! She ground to a halt heading towards Handy Cross, but I directed her along the A40 East, then through Flackwell Heath towards Marlow, and she got to where she needed to be only 4 minutes late. Had she been doing a full day, I don't think I would have seen her for quite some time.

In Arborfield the second bout of snow started at about 4.30 and was really heavy, brought the temperature down to 0.5C and settled on all surfaces. I had to go out at 5.15 to collect my daughter from Eversley (across the border into Hampshire) where there was notably less cover, probably due to lesser intensity. When I got there the snow was easing off and turning sleety. 

Snow has stopped now in Arborfield, we have about 1cm of wet snow on the grass, and slush on the roads and pavements. Temperature still 0.5C.
