net weather not to be totally trusted as shows snow here, in reality we had some drizzly sleet in nottingham but looks to be clearing now.

However,  I just read Bertie’s post and as the rain recently stopped pattering on our conservatory roof, I popped out to have a look and sure enough it’s snowing!  Just!  A tiny amount of small flakes that I had to squint against the outside light to see.  I think I might have missed it had Bertie not posted.

Listening to the heavy rain on the conservatory roof, annoyed for a moment that the intense rain had stopped before the temperature dropped; went out to the bin. It hadn't stopped- or rather, the rain had. Heavy snow at 6.10pm is so near-perfectly close to forecasts in GFS. Laying on cars, wood (fences & bridge) and some grass.

What fooled me was the noise of the rain stopping: it had merely been replaced by the whisper tiptoes of the snow.

Sleety now though. Will keep a vigil.

Moderate snow here for nearly an hour. Grass and cars covered but not a patch on last week which in comparison was a snowstorm!

could be a big freeze tomorrow.

Heavy rain here at London Bridge. It’s probably snowing on top of the Shard next door, 300 metres up.

Now in the correct thread. The radar says it's snowing here in Witney but it's 100% rain. And very light drizzly rain at that. Honestly can't wait until spring and get this god forsaken "winter" out of the way.

Rail journey through south London.

Rain out to Purley then sleet. Snow at Coulsdon - quite fluffy there - and snow out to Reigate. Quite wet still at Redhill. Proximity of hills at Coulsdon seems to be enough.

Up to 1cm now. Not bad seeing it’s so wet.

Anybody know if 850s were higher last week or perhaps intensity?

Rain has turned to snow here in Cranleigh, halfway between Guildford and Horsham, at some point within the last half-hour or so. It's settling on the grass, and I think even a little on the pavements too.

Rain at moment here but according to their forecast for my area, 90% chance of heavy snow at 2 & 3am with a temp of 0c... (sleet and snow forecast at other times but that caught my eye as wasn’t expecting that!). Clearly a nowcast situation but given experience elsewhere, there seems a decent chance of some snow-cover (albeit probably just slight) tomorrow morning here in east Suffolk! We’ll just have to see...
