Just a dusting here after the melt. At last NW England got a couple of inches. Shows how desperate we are when people in the North of England are happy with a cold snap and two inches of snow in late January!

Just been for a walk. Most snow here since Jan 2010. Very chuffed, and very impressed with the performance of EURO4 and GFS. They got the streamer spot on.

On my weekly journey to Leicester this morning, elevation was key. Everywhere above about 130m was white, everywhere below, not. The M40 between Junctions 4 and 5 was particularly snowy, there was also a bit of snow on the ground in the Silverstone area of Northamptonshire, and also around Watford Gap services on the M1. Nothing in Leicester.

Even though ive been in the eye of most of th winter storms, this too has been my story.  WE did luckily get 1cm over night, desite the rash of showers.  This equals every year since about 2005 for greatest depth.  Mostly though - its a slight slush on windscreens gone 10 mins later affair though.

Was really hoping this week would be the balance of fortunes for us :(

Just over an inch of snow this morning. Being honest it's quite poor for here given the setup. Still below freezing so it remains a winter wonderland scene with trees and plants still covered in snow.

We missed the core of the streamer here but good to see South Manchester had a decent fall.

Looking at the latest trajectory I do think south Manc will get it.

Hope it’s snow and isn’t sleet or rain.

There is a fair amount of thawing today, but once the sun goes down, everything will freeze solid. Rush hour tomorrow morning will be a nightmare yet again.

Frosts expected now through until Sunday night so hopefully we can maintain at least some snow on the ground right through until then.

It's quite unusual to get snow here in South Dorset let alone from a westerly direction. The hills to the north of us had/have a significant depth and based on previous events when I have been up to Bulbarrow Hill, I estimate there might be three to four inches of snow on the top, Certainly noticeable from where we live.

Meanwhile at the Dorset Snowsport Centre (believe me there really is such a place and it's only a few minutes from us) I think the current snow depth must be just about hanging on, at least in our back garden there is still the barest whiff of the powder on the soil. 2C

Two weather warnings as well but the chance of thundery showers seems more exciting than wet snow.

Sod all here from yesterday.

The models have completely downgraded tomorrow's event for the West Midlands too.

Just hoping that the front positions itself to dump on us Thursday night - 12z high res output and fax charts eagerly anticipated and hoping for an upgrade for Worcestershire, otherwise this January will go down in the Halls of Infamy along with 99% of UK Januaries past.

No snow here but there was a light dusting on fields near work this morning, so it only just missed us!  I just don’t think I’m going to get any at all this winter!

Freezing fog here and -2.6c still with everything white.

Out and about this morning , there was snow falling in Bradford for at least an hour or so , up to 1cm in places turning everywhere white. Definite flakes, but may have been industrial related, as there is nothing on the radar
