I only have 1 heavy snow symbol now for my location on the METO app at 03:00.

Just watched the video forecast on the MetO homepage, and Aidan McGivern, in a brief reference, downplayed the amount of snow for the far South East this evening.  As the band of ppn moved across Sussex, Kent, London, and into East Anglia, his words were "Not a great deal, snow increasingly fragmented."

As the day progresses, I am becoming somewhat pessimistic that we will see any snow at all in my part of the world.

There are bits of pieces of precipitation developing ahead of the front. Nothing of note; but worth keeping an eye on in terms of unexpected appertisers

I'm in North West London and originally it showed light snow from 8 pm and then heavy snow at 2 am and 3 am , now it shows light snow from 6 pm and heavy at 2am, 3am and 4 am with then light snow until 8 am so its anyone's guess what  will happen in reality.

Any news from the Republic of Ireland? - some places must have had some heavy snowfall, whilst for others the radar shows rain.

AN UPGRADE IN THE SHORT-TERM:

Bare in mind this was forecast as rain to turn to sleet only last night for tonight and now we see an upgrade - as sleet will turn readily to snow and settle and a lot of it coming down thick and fast too! - Although a downgrade for the SE parts of UK an upgrade for the SW!

Yes it's downgraded a lot here too, only three hours of "heavy" snow now, and pushed back to 1-3am. Having said that, that's what it shows for Sandhurst (2 miles north of home) but if I set it to Fleet (three miles south) then it is completely different and much snowier!

This was always the risk,  though I will reserve my final judgement til the 12zs come out and the radar plays.  At this point, my expectations, which were a modest 2 cms after the 6zs, have been downgraded to an inconsequential 1 cm or less.

Still 5c here with no rain in Exeter. 

Yes, Ill be doing the same before I throw in the towel. There will need to be some upgrades in order for me to consider a shift on lampost watch.

This is the snow potential thread too and I was not reporting snow in Exeter was I?

Looks like this will be as interesting as storm Emma last March but if anything this is more exciting as many will get to see the heavy rain transition to heavy snow and accumulating snow very quickly - which is an amazing meteorological transition to view and experience i think!

Must be the intensity of precipitation and rain which is causing evaporative cooling!

Nice to know Reduth reporting snow -0 which gives me more confidence Exeter will see snow if it can snow as far south and west as Redruth! - PS - I was told not to post in this thread and to post in snow reports thread! - So you shall see me in that thread there soon when Exeter reports snow!

NW precip type radar is showing only rain in Helston and Redruth, so good to know that it is underestimating rather than overestimating the snow!

Seems just about on time with the hi-res models suggesting that would occur between 2 and 3pm.
