Switzerland, Austria and Slovenia have all by now closed their borders with Italy - something I suggested they should have done over a week ago (when people said I was being "hysterical") - France still has an open border.

Is it not possible that this virus was already in Italy or Iran back in early January when it was still just starting to make headlines in China.

Singapore is not seeing exponential growth.

Europe is about to become the Italian cluster. To suggest that this was inevitable was simply not true.

Why are the people that shouted 'it's just flu' back in January now claiming we couldn't have done anything anyway? Perhaps we could have if we hadn't just treated it like a bad cold.

Will be Liverpool next week - I cannot believe that the match against Atletico is going ahead. I emailed my MP last week begging her to use her influence to get the match abandoned.

Again, this is fact and reality:

"

Malta has banned travel with Germany, France, Spain and Switzerland to try to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, Prime Minister Robert Abela said.

The small Mediterranean island imposed similar restrictions on travel from Italy on Monday."

The UK will be next on their list.

With that possibility then there would have been no way to contain the virus, but that i guess would also lean weight towards the idea that this virus is not much worse than the flu.

The planning  should be focussing on how best to protect vulnerable groups because they're the ones that will put huge pressure on the NHS if this gets out of control.

BoJo has just tweeted out a video interview with him and the Deputy CMO.

From what she is saying, it sounds like we are still some time away from taking action, “based on their modelling”.  Says they don’t see the need to stop large gatherings 😳

This could be a monumental cock up if they haven’t got this right.
