I hope he has a force majeure clause. But franchise agreements are generally written by the franchisor. The franchisee either has to accept what they're given or else they won't be accepted. Franchisees have to accept what they're given.

Yes.  No more trolleys.  Film people being greedy and broadcast their pictures on big screens.

So many people are out tonight having a last weekend out before an anticipated lockdown begins. This is what really f*cks me off about this whole sorry story. These are the people who are blaming HMG for being completely incompetent and useless during this crisis (which they are, I might add), whilst simultaneously and consciously acting in a way which they know will spread it further.

The people out partying and not using an ounce of common sense should be held equally responsible for this as HMG. It really is a catastrophe in the making, and they'll blame everyone but themselves.

When Tara Jane Langston was hospitalised with coronavirus, she and her family were confronted with a terrible ordeal. And then the trauma was compounded by online trolls who flooded the family’s inbox with messages accusing them of a hoax.

Langston said his 39-year-old wife was a fit and healthy mother of two before she contracted the virus and was hospitalised in intensive care. She started feeling unwell a week last Monday and went to the hospital after calling 111, Langston explained. The hospital staff told her she had a chest infection and she was prescribed antibiotics and sent home. They again called 111 and an ambulance was sent when her conditioned significantly worsened. “It was a horrific and terrifying ordeal,” he said

It occurs to me that there are parallels with climate change: ie I can’t see the threat; it’s not affecting me; it’s just unnecessary scaremongering so I’ll ignore it.

Just got back from the pub. Very sad  moment. One last hurrah. Not sure when we will see each other again. All the staff have been sacked. They will have to reapply when it reopens, so they can only claim Universal credit for now

Bergamo authorities invited cameras inside one of their hospitals in order to encourage governments to initiate lockdowns. This is one of the most modern and most advanced hospitals in the world and this is not the ICUs, it's just the emergency arrivals wards.

Imo todays announcement to basically tell the vast majority of the hospitality industry to close in the whole of the uk was a step too far,too early!! It would have made perfect sense to close down establishments in London as its the hotspot. Also I note there was no mention of hotels having to close even though you do not have to be a resident to eat in a hotels  restaurants or drink in a hotels bars!! Odd that! Anyway Boris doesn`t have to as all hotels in Bournemouth have now shed 90% of their staff, many have closed to try and survive and many have zero occupancy next week onwards. The measures announced by the Chancellor today do NOT protect the incomes of most in the hospitality sector as they are on zero hours/casual staff type contracts even though they work 40-50 hours week in week out. These hardworking people now face real extreme hardship!!

Imo and this will have to come if there isn`t going to be total economic collapse, is a universal income of say £200 per week for every single person of working age so that people can survive without worry. All the measures so far are full of red tape with too many hoops to jump throughand strings attached  to get both for businesses and individuals. At this rate we are looking at 10 million+ unemployed very soon.
