This site is my main home for serious discussion and I've given it a swerve this last 24 hours, partly because I've had other stuff I needed to do and partly a deliberate intent to take a step away. I've not read any of today's 'Apocalypse News' on here.
As such, and in tandem with the sense that the restrictions now imposed should very much help stem the spread of infection, I've become far less anxious about it all.
A feeling of this being the nadir. Yes, confirmed cases and deaths will increase over the coming days & weeks, but I just can't help thinking we're now more active in taking practical steps to get a grip on this.
I'm convinced that not poring over the dissemination of every piece of news on here has helped.
Perhaps I'm just in blissful ignorance, but I feel less fraught.
We were booked into a Miller & Carter tonight (truly very good steaks) for a combined Mother's Day/Mrs S's birthday meal (I know, but we'd otherwise avoided pubs, bars, restaurants, cafes for about a fortnight) but obviously that was knocked on the head. Instead we ordered take-out Nandos. Own booze, sat round our own table. Could have been worse!
