We just don't know though, it's possible that he just has some moderate breathing difficulties and his doctor wanted a CT scan of his lungs. They could just be erring on the side of caution (wish they had done the same with the country a month ago).

As long as Larry the cat writes his own tweets I'll be happy.

Out of order. How do you know his source was wrong. Soundbites and words from Number 10 are meaningless until you see Boris Johnson back at work leading the country.

I think by Cheltenham the penny had dropped for most of us and we knew something massive was taking place. I feel it was at this point when the "armchair experts" actually were moving quicker than the cogs of government. A little bit like how the Met Office 30 dayer sometimes lags the latest trends which are apparent to us.

Justin did caveat the info, I suspect oxygen was given (some people just need some minor assistance for a period) and that may have been interpreted as ventilation, along the way.

I for one appreciate the titbits of info so won’t be taking part in a pile-on.

Yes, can’t say I’m too surprised that Justin’s ‘source’ proved to be completely wrong. Seems to be lots of people that have sources that know stuff

Your postings since all this started have been pretty dismissive of the danger posed by this virus. So far, you've been wrong at every point.

I'd take the worst possible intepretation of what downing street is saying.

'Tests' are diagnostic tests like X-rays e.c.t.

Performing well means 'responding to treatment'

Treatment is probably worse than oxygen but not as bad as ventilator. Probably CPAP.

Everything there is consistent with the message while still allowing #10 to play down what is still a very serious case.

I've been cleaning my patio with a biodegradable, wild-life friendly, solution. The results have been brilliant but the lady of the house has found some dead worms, which is apparently my fault. There has been quite a lot of saucepan clanging and bearing in mind it's not Thursday I'm now concerned I may also be admitted to hospital with "underlying health conditions"......

One of the reasons I'm modelling confirmed cases rather than deaths. Deaths may be closer to the actual number but I'd rather have a consistent, representitive metric than one that has constantly switching methodologies. Confirmed cases will also have reduced lag so will be more 'up to date'.

It will end in Europe in a few weeks. Hopefully, the shops and pubs can open here in May

I wasn't 'political point scoring', I was making a general philosophical point, which Hickster turned into a sneering personal accusation, which I corrected him on.

Staying with 'general philosophical points', its nonsense to say it's "never morally justifiable to wish ill towards someone". There are countless figures littering history who we would all wish ill, as they have caused 'harm'. Starting from that point, the difference between people is where they draw their own red line on what level of harm they consider the subject in question to have caused.

Johnson has a BMI of 34.5 AFAIK. He lost weight in 2018 but then piled it back on during the election campaign last year. His weight doesn't put him in the 'extremely vulnerable' category (he would be shielding for 12 weeks if it did), but it does class him as obese and, therefore, vulnerable.

Those carrying a lot of extra weight seem to be more at risk of serious breathing difficulties.

EDIT: Should also point out that Downing St described Russian reports that he is on a ventilator as 'disinformation'. That is not a denial.
