Quite possibly. It was edging up towards that gridline. I was always told management information was useful both ways. Great if its going down and one to address and take action on if they want to if its going up. Better than no info at all so you don't know where you are and you can't make any decisions.

Builders merrily at work, no sign of any distancing - what's the likelihood of all of them coming from the same family  - slim I would have thought !  A group of geriatrics   thumping balls about on a DIY golf course.  The village mains street   looked normal, with parked cars, groups of woman with kids  "nattering"  totally blocking teh pavement and traffic zooming about !  Finally, I was forced to re-route as a bunch of Muppets -  2 couples, a load of kids and dogs had set up a ruddy picnic right across a bridle path. 

Either we are doing this sodding' lock down or we aren't - I'm as pissed off by it as anyone and a point will be reached when I'll start questing how rigorous I want to be myself on the basis that at the margin, if the whole thing is in disrepute it won't matter a  tinkers cuss what I do

Another day with 4k new cases and its been running between 4-5k since 12th April. It should be going down now. Perhaps this is the level and new infections are due to areas such as supermarkets. If this is the case, it won't be going down unless there are changes here as well. Supermarkets could be the hotspot. In these environments, 2m's may not be enough. Too many not keeping their distance. So many hands on food. So many hands touching payment keypads. All indoors.

Second waves which countries who acted early now will approach in a better economic situation, with more understanding of the virus, better treatments, and a lower number already dead. I've already explained the logic here, and you haven't put forward any argument against it.

If you disagree, then can you say why the logic of my argument is wrong? Simply saying what you've said here doesn't really act as a counter to what I've said.

The uk has been behind the curve and dramatically so in March.We should have locked down a week earlier.I remember Boris on Monday advising people not to go to pubs and restaurants etc and being very surprised he did not go further.Half the country was voluntarily shutting up shop and it was clear and evident then we needed to take strong action. That delay has cost lives and wasted precious time and the govt have been scrambling around like headless chickens ever since.

Yep most children in today since lockdown 31, parents much more relaxed and in fact have to be asked to be moved on because of the chatting.

No parent picking up or dropping wearing a mask a first.

Local car wash open today, Local postmaster has lifted his restrictions in his small shop apparently his feed up with no back up from police.

Local Aldi now open to 10pm

Loads of traffic about in fact parking up three mile hill to get in Hylands park for free if anybody knows the area.

Yes it is definitely easing either through design or accident. Whatever the reason it will be very interesting to see what happens to infection rates in a couple of weeks time. 

Annoying isn't the word. It's a matter of life or death people observe the rules. The good weather hasn't helped either!, though I leave that to govt haters to blame them for that.

With the new cases rate seeming to find its level around 4-5k a day, we won't be relaxing any restrictions soon. In fact these will have to become tougher if numbers are to come down. I suspect supermarket shopping is causing a lot of new infections. A load of people fairly close by for an hour or more, the chances in these places of infection must be the highest. New rules for shopping, perhaps compulsory masks here.

Agree in some regards with what you say but I don't think South Korea aside I don't think the countries you listed are a good example. Australia and New Zealand have advantages we do not have in a pandemic (very few population centres, a long way from nearly all other countries, large travel distances between population centres). Greece the economy will be even more fked than it is now if they don't reopen in the next month or two. It is also a place where 20% unemployment is acceptable, which would never wash in the UK.

Germany and SK are the best examples imo for any first world high population country to follow. The key common ground between them: maximum testing. They at least will know where they stand and which parts of their country are being hit the hardest. This will be especially key if there is no effective vaccine or therapy because it prevents the repeat complete lockdowns that even the Oz and NZs of this world can suffer. Test, test, test!

B&Q was always open up here but it was a click and collect only service. Today the shop opened with “social distancing “ measures in place.

The roads are still very quiet up here, possibly a little busier but not anything like normal.

The govt quietly issues edicts to relax enforcement of the lockdown, whilst maintaining a false public facade of upholding it. If/when it goes tits-up and cases/deaths begin to ramp up, they'll deny it's their fault and point to the people disregarding lockdown rules. 

The suckers will believe them.
