So 80% confident of her vaccine working and it will be far more effective and long lasting than organically generated anti-bodies. I'll say one thing about Gilbert, she doesn't lack self confidence.

I hope this doesn't backfire on her as she is the best hope for a rapid "cure"

The treatment of care homes residents and workers has been absolutely scandalous:

  • no testing

  • no help with PPE

  • Govt asking care homes to take back hospital patients without been tested first

  • No entry in death forms for CV19 until 6 April

  • Very slow/inadequate data collection of infections and deaths at care homes

It's worse then negligence, some government ministers should be be imprisoned for what they have done.

IMO a spotlight needs to be shone on the state of "caring" in the UK.

Belgium are starting schools again from 18th May but class sizes must be no bigger than 10. I wonder how they will work that?

Worth remembering what Vallance said on March 17th:

UK coronavirus death toll of 20,000 'a good outcome', says chief scientific adviser

Sir Patrick Vallance hopeful that Government's 'extreme' demands on public could cut mortality rate

Keeping the number of deaths from coronavirus to less than 20,000 would be "a good outcome" of the Government strategy to battle the pandemic, the UK's chief scientific adviser has said.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2020/03/17/governments-hopeful-scenario-20000-people-will-die-coronavirus/

Weekend figures are always subject to delayed counting but it's very likely we'll reach 20,000 deaths, excluding care home and community, within the next 5 days. So what has gone wrong?

After watching Dr Sanjay Gupta getting one on CNN, I don't know why anyone would want to go through that unless there was a tangible benefit.

Some great big fatty of a nurse shoved a foot long stick  right up the nose to the very back and another long stick down his throat to the point he started convulsing

Perhaps our tests are less invasive, but I would only get one if it gave me a green pass to allow free movement, though that would more likely be the antibody test

Wizz Air plans to resume flights out of Vienna on May 1 - APA

VIENNA (Reuters) - European low-cost airline Wizz Air (WIZZ.L) plans to resume flights out of Vienna from May 1, Deputy Chief Executive Stephen Jones said in comments reported by Austrian news agency APA on Friday.

Jones told reporters the airline intended to offer connections to 20 destinations including Milan, Valencia and Tel Aviv despite widespread travel restrictions introduced because of the coronavirus pandemic, APA reported.

The dash towards normalisation is beginning to gather pace. At least it will put a number of ideas to the test.
