Just been thinking Dorries/Cummings/Charles/Witty/Hancock/Johnson/maybe missed a few more and all celebrities. All these seemed to get infected quite quickly and in fairly close time to each other.
Now these people appear to be out of the woods, for now, is there anyone else in the limelight who has still not recovered or just gone down with the virus? I can't think of any, all complying with restrictions?
It seems to me there was a 'wave', and a fairly quick one at that as well.
It still does not defer the fact that c4k people are still being reported as new infected each day, but it'll be interesting to see exactly where these people are, and what's driving these very latest infections.

Who would have thought a guy that commented extensively on how unprepared the UK was for a pandemic and strongly critisized the civil service for being thoroughly unprepared over the last decade might have questioned why the UK didn't act faster....

And before anyone is like 'herp derp, dominic cummings tried to influence SAGE'. No he didn't, the comment is tounge in cheek. Cummings asked scientists in SAGE why the lockdown shouldn't happen sooner. In response behavioural science was used to suggest fatigue if it happened too early.

The government obviously then went on to follow that advice.

Advice it turns out had some merit behind it given that behavioural fatigue is clearly real. Anyway this clearly puts a different spin on 'The Narrative TM'.

My personal view on the whole thing is that the government has made mistakes, but laying all this on dominic cummings is ridiculous. I also do not blame the scientists for using behavioural science to inform their views on whether the lockdown should be earlier or later. And as I've said before PHE must shoulder some of the blame for not properly engaging with the private sector until too late. A key reason Germany did better than the UK in this phase was through strong engagment with the private sector. The 'cult of the NHS' prevented that from happening until very recently.

And I say 'this phase' because in the previous phase the UK was leading Europe. I haven't changed my mind on that either. During the containment phase no country in Europe did better than the UK. Since then we have arguably performed one of the worst during the delay phase and I've set out some of the reasons for that.

Agree 100%, it is because it is Dominic Cummings - he is a red flag to a bull for Guardianistas. Should Boris aid Joe Bloggs have been attending SAGE meetings, there would have been little comment if any, but Dominic Cummings - oh boy - get the knives out!

We are certainly going to carry on advising people to work from home , the HSE are already visiting our customers and giving instructions on toilets and canteens - the longer people work from home the smaller the headache

Last Wednesday. NHS England reported 665 new deaths

And it's what advice it is? I guess any suggestion to resume as normal will drive people back into the worst kind of places for infection such as using public transport. There would be some only too glad to go back to the work environment. Working remotely is all well and good, but working alongside colleagues is easier if you want to discuss things. Really depends on your business. Back to your question. Guess, End May but with caveats and instructions for certain sectors and ability to travel in isolation.

Next announcements not too far away. Rail companies in trouble, reduced sales and no advance money on season tickets.

I hope it won’t change!  I’m quite happy working in my conservatory and I’m hoping companies will have seen the benefit of not having to provide office space for all employees and having a less commuter stressed workforce.  Plus the obvious benefits to the environment of less congested roads and less polluted air.  The government should encourage it!
