The last few days have been the best convective/thundery spell for my area for a number of years, going back at least to the 1990s

I have to agree with Kevin's comments though. This is by far the best thundery spell I have seen in Manchester, in my short 23 year existence. This city has had a notable thunder drought in the last few years, so to see it get 6 thunderstorms in just 3/4 days seems like an incredible feat.

Hopefully we will see another spell through this summer, and hopefully in years to come!

You've been spoilt for choice in the NW for the last few days - almost like magnetic attraction watching the progress of those cells on the TV weather maps every evening

Brilliant pics and videos both of you - it has been a very memorable spell of weather and although Sheffield only tapped into it, I did manage to get out and chase yesterday to experience some of the more intense thunderstorms.

Great, great footage and accounts over the past few days - well done!

Interesting comparing Bolty's and my timelapse footage as we live virtually diametrically opposite to each other in Greater Manchester.

And they were all home grown storms.

It's not often I envy Manchester its weather - but I did enjoy the timelapses

Frequent lightning from this cloud miles way at Sea - barely can hear any thunder
We have stayed dry the past 24  hours

Today's band of storms - I missed most of the best cloud effect at the start working out how to record time lapse - hadn't done if for months.
Nearly 9mm from this in 20 minutes.
