25.6c here @ 09:52. Rather more cloud is holding temperatures back at the moment.#

The dewpoint hovers close to 20c...as it has done for several days now.

Another airless day after another overnight low above 21c (70f).

Its becoming difficult at home now...we cannot get the temperature below 29c (84f) upstairs. I managed to get the front room down to 28c (82f) late yesterday evening.

hottest start of the day 28.3c @ 10am, hotter than it was on the 31st July at this time.

Last nights minimum 20.7c, had a thunderstorm at 11pm but 5 min of rain didn't register anything.

Down to 24.8 now and the dewpoint's also falling. It does feel slightly fresher out there too, so I suspect it's the sea breeze kicking in.

All eyes on convection today spoiling the heat party. Ideally here in London we stay clear until 5pm then have something cataclysmic just as the sun is going down, with enough fearsome downdrafts and evaporative cooling to sort out my increasingly intolerable indoor temperatures.

So far so sunny: https://en.sat24.com/en/gb

27.6C here now after 19.2C over night low so here joining the SE heat and I might see low 30's by afternoon.  Stingy hot morning sun and put all the washing out today after seeing many days of rain/storms ahead.

Mostly cloudy here now as the little blob of cloud over Kent swings NW'wards - no complaints here, the temperature is now 24.1 and falling! It's even - remarkably - falling upstairs too.

The dewpoint's still high though: 19.8C, so there's a limit to how much cooler it can get.

Nonetheless, a welcome respite from the heat. The VP2 a mile to the north of me reports a similar drop too, so it's something affecting the area rather than just me.

Still three degrees down on July 25 last year which was 31.6C at Heathrow by 10am. That has to be the most remarkable 10am temperature on record. Looking at the hourly figures it probably passed 30C at around 9.30 in the morning that day.

I can see the regional models all planning some big bubbling up from mid levels this afternoon though. Just need some relative luck over at least one of the hotspot weather stations (or a hot early peak).

Arome 0z thinks we already have 100% high cloud cover, oddly. It has a storm passing over London early-mid afternoon.
