The Met Office have slightly downgraded Tuesday's temperature forecast for Hawick in the Scottish Borders to 29°C, but the BBC are still going for 30°C at that same location on that same day.
For the record, the actual highest ever recorded temperature here in Scotland was 32.9°C in a village called Greycrook which is located just to the SE of the town of Newtown St. Boswells which is also in the Scottish Borders (the same town as where the Scottish Borders Council has its HQ), and well to the NE of Hawick.
That record was set on 9 August 2003.
With that slight downgrade in the forecast temperatures for that area, it is now slightly less likely that this record will actually be beaten on this occasion, although I still wouldn't want to be completely ruling that out.
