What difference would it make though? Even if you somehow convinced everyone in the UK and we went completely carbon neutral in 10 years, if China, India, Russia and the US continue blasting out emissions, it's pointless. Not saying we shouldn't try and contribute, but I'm just raising the point that the UK is a drop in the sea metaphorically.
And yes, if a 50°C heat wave in Canada and devastating wildfires in Australia, Portugal and the SW US won't convince them, then nothing will. I don't know why people get all worked up about it, to be honest.
