Interesting.

The Metoffice temp chart (updated at 11) shows areas to the west of London edging ahead @31 deg (Benson, Odium).

I also notice that  the sporadic areas of rain, previously  to the West of the IOW, are becoming more organized and drifting eastwards a bit.  Sea breeze front in the making ?

28c here on downs near Folkestone. It's lovely out in the garden at the moment, sat under a tree with a nice breeze, still in my trousers. Shorts will come out once it hits 30c. Expecting the breeze to change to a blowtorch this afternoon and late max between 6-8pm.

28.3c which, while not as eye catching as many other areas, is still amazing for our coastal location.

Edit: just found out that Swansea holds the Welsh record for the warmest night at 22.2 in 1948 and this might be beaten tonight.

After a peak of 32.3C about ten minutes ago, after a relentless climb all morning, it dropped back to 32,1C. A light breeze has picked up after an almost calm morning here in mid Sussex.

Now back to 32.4C ! (Davis Vantage Vue)

32.1C on the PWS - probably about right, as overhead it's quite hazy, and more cloud building to the West.

This must be turning into a good year for the vines is it not Tim?

Am actually a tad worried about the vines as they are not irrigated and the ground is very dry now. First year vines can be quite vulnerable to drought.

31.3 here in Jersey.. The record is on but it will need to pick up the pace I feel... Its very difficult for us to get beyond the low 30's due to our proximity to the sea.
This is where you guys on the mainland will really start to leave us behind.

I remember I was in Guernsey when the July record there was set in 2016 but it just missed out on the all-time.
