So far not so hot in Scotland - they need to go some to beat the national record. Borders probably the most likely area.

Seems to be holding steady at around 31 C in my back yard after an overnight low of 24.2 C at 12.15 am.

I'm actually not feeling that bad by not sweating with a fan close by and my elderly mother also has her own fan next to her bed and she is still asleep. Although I have noticed outdoors humidity have just shot up to 50% thus bringing DP at 18 C after having been sub 15 C with low 30 % H in past few hours.

Still, like I said before I'm glad I no longer work in a tomato greenhouse.

Assuming the record does go today - which is looking increasingly likely, it wouldn't surprise me if we have the record going in one location only for it to be surpassed later elsewhere. Perhaps Cambridge gets there first and then somewhere in the East Midlands or South Yorks takes it by the end of the day ....

34.6C at Little Bursted vineyard. It keeps rising.

Marginally higher humidity than yesterday so far, but that may drop off in the afternoon as it usually does. Current DP 14C.

The one consolation is that it's dry heat.
