I've just woke up to discover that it's snowing here in Edinburgh as I write, and that this snow is also lying even here in NW Edinburgh where I live, albeit only on those frozen surfaces which had already a covering of frost on them. This snow therefore, isn't really lying very well on those damp areas where the frost had melted during the day.

Meanwhile, the temperature here in Edinburgh has gone back up to around -3°C here in Edinburgh as at 5am GMT (05:00 UTC) this morning.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

A fairly nice little event for parts of East Kent overnight. Up to 2cm in the sweet spot just south of Canterbury. A general dusting for many.

Just been getting some images from friends in the Lakes. A big snow event in the Central Lakes especially, this morning. It looks like a good 10-15cm fall in Grasmere for example

Have to be in Manchester today with the family, but keeping tabs on home via the CCTV.

Disappointingly, the ppn moving in from the SW and showing as over Merseyside/Cheshire right now doesn't seem to be surviving the journey over the North Wales mountains.

The Lakes look amazing. We're often up there and know all the locations of the webcams linked to. I want to be up there right now 😪

Met Office have hinted at a few hours of snow here overnight. Hope it doesn't happen to be honest, as I've got stuff to do tomorrow.

We've apparently had a few flakes fall at ours, but there's certainly not even a dusting.

Incredible event for the Lake District. 👍

Down here in Manchester it’s all a bit marginal unfortunately.

The amber warning is very localised, really only the western half of the Lake District. Yellow warning for a wider area.
