This morning's weather here in Edinburgh (where the Sun has just been constantly refusing to shine these days) appears to be as good as it ever gets these days.

There is a bit of sunshine at times, and even that is something which we've not seen for a long time at this time of the day but even with that, there's still a lot of cloud around as well which never seems to go away these days.

Meanwhile, the temperature is currently around 12°C here in Edinburgh.

A clear and sunny start, 15.6c and warming nicely for a repeat of yesterday, which stuck around 21c for a few hours and peaked at 21.8c.  That would do me nicely but I suspect it’ll get a bit warmer today.

Quite sunny but not overly warm at 13.1 C & mid 80% H currently. Have to be in a sheltered south-facing location to feel the Spring-like warmth from the sun.

Sunnier, near enough unbroken sunshine, than yesterday and a pleasant 18.1C outside the office.

A bit more blue sky today but still that patchy strato cumulus moving slowly east through the central belt with a west wind to accompany it.
My garden thermometers have reached 20 C however which beats yesterday's 19 C and is very acceptable as a late Spring day!

Sunny, warm, feeling a bit humid and - of course - it's pretty much windless. An effortless 25 upstairs (even with the windows open), so the portable air-con will be wheeled out this evening. Summer has arrived.

19.8, dew 13.7, the high so far is 19.9.

At long last, I can report that Edinburgh has now finally just had its first 20+°C temperature of this year with a temperature of exactly bang on 20.0°C being recorded at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 3:30pm (14:30 UTC) this afternoon.

As I write, the temperatures have not yet peaked for today and of course, the official maximum temperature for today will be the same as or higher than that reported figure in the end.

In addition to that, we even have a burst of sunshine here which is something which we don't see very often these days in these parts although today's sunshine total until now still only adds up to a measly 2.1 hours of sunshine at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

As John mentioned, we reached 20 C for the first time but it's clouding over again with an annoying west wind.

May be if the wind turns southerly tomorrow we will see more sunshine 🤔

Lovely day down here, and another BBQ is on the way.

As per usual, given I work a lot with the US, I left the office at 2 back for some calls and more work, but nice to have the door open again.

By far the warmest day of the year, 24.2c was the max

Today's maximum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank is officially confirmed as 20.2°C which makes today our warmest day of this year so far and only the first day of this year when the temperature has exceeded 20°C here.

As yet, this still isn't enough to give us our first 70+°F temperature of the year but that is forecast to happen over the next few days.

In addition to that, the Sun has broken through a bit more over the latter part of this afternoon and into this evening although there is still quite a bit of cloud around (as there always is here, of course).

Meanwhile, the temperature here in Edinburgh has now dropped back to around 16°C although there is already a much muggier feel about the air.

The third super day in a row following the wretched Bank Holiday Monday. 23.4C and looking good here through till Sunday. At least making amends for this wretched cool, cloudy wet Spring. Average temperatures may not reflect that because night time minima have been high due to the amount of cloud but day time has  generally felt cool  due to the wind and average maxima at best with only four maxima creeping above 20C in the last month.

Finally, we actually have a bright and sunny start to today here in Edinburgh at long, long, last which is something which we haven't experienced in these parts for a very long time although there is still a lot of very high cloud around even with that.

Currently around 13°C here in Edinburgh although our temperature is forecast to reach the low 20s°C later on which would once again, make today our warmest day of the year so far, possibly even with our first 70+°F maximum of the year.

Bright sunshine and warm to start but quite hazy now.  19.8c and rising.  Another perfect day being promised.  We’ve been very lucky here and had the lions share of good weather in the past few weeks.  Making up for the winter flooding!
