Just hit 30 here, first time in two years (it didn't quite make it last year, thank goodness). There's a slight breeze now, blowing from inland, and the dewpoint's finally fallen a bit. 30.3, dew 18.7 now - still feels positively tropical outside!

Seen unofficial readings of 31C in both Fordingbridge and Downton in Hampshire. (Other locations in area mostly 29C). I know sandy soils contribute to more extreme diurnal variations but is there anything less anecdotal nearby? I'm sure one of our community lives around Fordingbridge or similar.

Peaked around 28C here today.
Had a dew point of 20C about half hour ago so it's definitely been a humid one.

Just about scraped 21 C here on another mostly cloudy day yet again. 19.8 C in the house.
I'm heading down to Nottingham for the weekend just as the heat disappears 🙄 22 C is the warmest I've experienced so far this year

I can't remember the last time that the temperature here in Edinburgh failed to even reach 25°C throughout an entire year but with the way that this summer has been shaping up, that could well be on the cards for us this year.

In addition to that, we're nearly two thirds of the way through this month and yet Edinburgh Gogarbank has only had just over 40% of its 1991-2020 July average sunshine during this month.

That should tell you a lot about the almost constant lack of sunshine here. We still haven't had a sunnier than average month here since January and it looks as though we're not going to get a sunnier than average month this time either.

As I write, there is some blue sky around to my east but sadly, it's in completely the wrong place to deliver any late evening sunshine to these parts.

Meanwhile, the temperature is still currently holding up at around 20°C here in Edinburgh.

A minimum of 15.5 C and already 17 C but yet again, cloudy. I'd love to wake up to sunshine now and then!
Heading south on the train today but by the time I get to Notts the cold front will be approaching 😡

As you have said, it's mostly cloudy with a temperature of around 17°C but the Sun is shining as I write and this is probably as good as it can be just now, given what this summer has been like up until now.

Light rain, as an organised band of showers moves up from the north. Not enough to tip the gauge, but enough to turn my granite wolves dark for a while (they're green granite, normally light coloured, but turn a dark grey when wet).

I went out in the rain, purely to experience the unusual (for the UK) situation of rain falling at 25C! It felt like being in Japan...

It's now 24.4, dew 19.5. There should be a burst of slightly heavier rain, then back to the sunshine... with added humidity, of course!

The high so far is 26.8.

EDIT: The rain's back, big drops again - those clouds are definitely convective in nature!

Very poor for convective activity here this summer so far. No thunder observed at all.  Very light rain overnight and into much of today, which amounted to very little (10.2mm), but enough water the soil up at least.

Here in Edinburgh, the earlier sunshine has now disappeared and it's now raining.

After reaching a high or around 21°C, the temperature here in Edinburgh has now dropped back to around 19°C, so I guess that will once again be "it" for our "summer" (not that we've even had much of a summer up until now of course).😡
